Yonel is the Director of Strategic Partnerships at KayaPush, and we learned how important genuine relationship-building is in business.
Yonel’s career trajectory is incredibly impressive. He started out locally in banking back in 2005 after studying business at BCIT, and over the years he has built a reputation as a major growth engine for the companies he works with. Before stepping into his current role at KayaPush, where he built their partner ecosystem completely from scratch, he drove sales and strategy at Push Operations, Vision33, and Jim Pattison Lease.

What stood out to us is his absolute focus on creating “win-win” partnerships. He doesn’t just look for ways to extend a company’s reach; he looks for collaborations that actually improve the product and build long term strategic advantages. That kind of leadership requires a lot of trust, open-mindedness and authenticity.

When a professional like Yonel walks into the studio, our main goal as photographers is to capture that exact mix of approachability and high-level executive presence. For his session, we decided to go with a dark background. You can see how this choice creates a striking contrast with his light tan jacket and crisp white shirt. It gives the portraits a more modern, confident edge without feeling too overly stiff or traditional.
