Conference speaker headshots for events and organizers

If you’re running an event rather than speaking at one, the problem is different: collecting forty usable photos from forty busy people, most of whom will send a cropped selfie two days before the program goes to print.

Are AI headshots good enough for a speaker page?

Increasingly the question we get. AI headshots are cheap and fast, and for a low-stakes internal profile they’re fine.

For public speaking they’re a poor bet, for a specific reason: your audience meets you afterwards. An AI headshot works from photos you already have and returns a plausible person who resembles you — smoother, younger, subtly generic. When someone has spent a conference looking at that image and then sees you at the lectern, the gap registers, and it registers as a credibility problem rather than a photography one.

How to prepare for your session

• Wear what you’d wear on stage for your ideal booking, then bring one layer you can add or remove — a blazer or jacket — so you leave with two different looks from one session.
• Bring a second outfit if your talks span audiences. A keynote for a bank and a workshop for a startup want different photographs, and shooting both in one session costs nothing extra.
• Don’t over-plan your expression. We’ll direct you into poses that read as confident rather than posed; the useful preparation is arriving on time.
• Tell us where the images are going. A book jacket, a podcast guest graphic and a conference banner have different aspect ratios. If we know the list before we start, you leave with all of them.
