Why she started Stellar Creative Lab
Feeling that creativity was being sidelined in bigger studios, Hasmi and partner Bert van Brande founded Stellar Creative Lab in 2017 to build a studio where creative comes first. They combine her financing and producing chops with his VFX and pipeline expertise to recruit passionate people who share a start‑up mentality and love creative challenges
What makes her process unique
Hasmi takes projects from concept to delivery, covering creative design, development, budgeting, scheduling, and execution. She works closely with clients, overseeing everything from financing to final shot delivery.
Her team has tackled major animation projects including Marvel’s What If…? seasons 1–3, the upcoming Marvel Zombies, Kung Fu Panda series, and Sausage Party: Foodtopia (produced by Prime Video/Annapurna/Sony).
What keeps her going
Her advice to aspiring producers: perseverance. “It’s tough,” she says, pointing out that many writers and actors juggle day‑jobs or gigs in restaurants until they break through. Still, staying the course and focusing on good creative is key.
When she’s not steering big animation pipelines, Hasmi values studio culture. She hires people who bring energy, talent, and a startup mindset—ensuring every project stays fresh and creative-focused from start to finish.
